Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America announced on September 24 that it returns to New York Comic Con 2026, and Tamagotchi fans have two reasons to pay attention. First, the little egg-shaped friend turns 30 this year, and Bandai is marking the milestone in a big way. Second, the classic Original Tamagotchi is back with four new shell colors for fall, ready to pre-order right now.
Thirty years of connection and play
Bandai Namco is celebrating "30 years of connection and play" at the show, and the Tamagotchi presence is spotlighting both nostalgic and Limited-Edition products. So older fans who grew up raising pixels in the nineties and collectors hunting exclusives should both find something worth stopping for. The booth sits alongside immersive exhibits, photo ops, and event exclusives spanning the whole BNTCA lineup, including Gundam, TAMASHII NATIONS, Gashapon, and Godzilla. That is a stacked corner of the show floor.
If you can make it to New York, don't miss the panel. "30 Years of Tamagotchi" runs Saturday, October 10, at 2PM in North Room 406.2. Bandai is promising fun and "maybe even some sneak peeks." We all know what a word like "maybe" usually means on an anniversary panel, so if you are anywhere near the Javits Center that weekend, that room is worth a seat.
Four new shells for fall
For everyone else, that's where the new Original Tamagotchi shells come in. The classic device is back with four fresh colors for the season. Same loop as always: you raise your character from an egg through childhood to adulthood, feeding it, cleaning up, and keeping it happy along the way. It is the version that started it all, and it gets a new wardrobe just in time for the anniversary.
Pre-orders are open now at four retailers: Amazon, Diamond Comics, Entertainment Earth, and Galactic Toys. If you want one of the new shells on your shelf, locking in a pre-order early is the safest play.
So the plan depends on where you are. If you are in the New York area, October 10 is the day, catch the panel at 2PM in North Room 406.2 and then swing by the Tamagotchi booth for the exhibits and exclusives. If you're reading this from anywhere else, grab a pre-order and celebrate thirty years of connection the quiet way, one egg at a time.
Thirty years in, and the little egg is still finding ways to bring people together. For more collectible news from our corner of the internet, keep an eye on the sister site at https://stacksignal.fdhcl.com and we will keep you posted.
