After 30 years of keychains clanking in school bags and Egg shapes hiding in desk drawers, Britain finally gets a Tamagotchi shop of its own. Bandai Namco has confirmed the brand's first dedicated pop-up store in the UK, and it opens its doors in London's Soho on Friday, 6 November.
Where and when
The shop lives at 60 Broadwick Street, London W1F 7AN, in the busy Soho district. An exclusive preview for special guests happens on Wednesday, 5 November, and the public gets in a day later. The pop-up runs right through to New Year's Eve, wrapping up on 31 December 2026. Entry is free.
Opening hours are 11:00am to 7:30pm Monday to Friday, 11:00am to 8:00pm on Saturday, and 11:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday. Bandai Namco says the hours could shift during the run, so checking the Tamagotchi UK Instagram (@tamagotchiuk) before you visit is wise.
The exclusives you can't buy anywhere else
The reason collectors will cross town for this one is the shelf of items sold only at Broadwick Street. Two special shells lead the lineup: a "Tamagotchi Destination UK" design and a 30th Anniversary shell, both tied to the brand's milestone year. Fans can also pick up Tama Space at the shop alone, alongside a run of London-themed merchandise — pins, patches, stickers, tote bags, and apparel made for the pop-up.
Beyond the exclusives, the store is fully stocked with the current device families: the Original Tamagotchi (the 1996 egg recreated), the smaller Nano, the Connection line that returned in 2024 for its 20th anniversary, and Tamagotchi Paradise, which launched internationally in July 2025 with its zoom-dial world. Merchandise runs from SunStar stickers and an exclusive London-design Nui plush to Shokugan key chains, collectible figures, bath bombs, and Nanoblock sets. Giveaways and fresh stock will rotate in throughout the run.
An anniversary built around the calendar
The opening is part of a year-long 30th anniversary celebration. Tamagotchi officially turned 30 in Japan on 23 November 2026, and the UK marks its own anniversary in May 2027 — the date the original device first reached Western shores back in 1997. For Bandai Namco, the pop-up is a first for the region.
"We are very excited about opening the first ever Tamagotchi Pop-Up in the UK," said Kazu Kojima, Commercial Director at Bandai Namco. "As well as offering an immersive and exclusive space for Tamagotchi fans to enjoy and experience, the pop-up will have many limited-edition items which are not available anywhere else."
The two-week gap between this post and 23 November means the shop opens just ahead of the anniversary itself — a decent window to grab a shell no other shop in the country will have. If you are in London over the winter, 60 Broadwick Street is worth queuing for. Giveaways and fresh stock will rotate in throughout the run, and Bandai Namco has promised photo moments and what it calls "special surprises" for fans alongside the tables of merchandise.
